Background Story
Amaterasu Omikami is the goddess of the sun in Japanese mythology, and is regarded as one of the most important deities. She is the daughter of lzanagi, symbolized by the sacred bronze mirror Yata no Kagami, representing light and order. According to legend, Amaterasu shut herself in the Heavenly Rock Cave after a conflict with her brother Susanoo, causing the world to fall into darkness. To bring back light, the gods organized a grand celebration to lure her out of the cave, ultimately succeeding in restoring sunlight to the world.
